Reporter Athlete of the Week: Cassie Padilla

Kentlake High School’s Cassie Padilla, swim and gymnastics, was selected as the Covington Maple Valley Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week for Nov. 23.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: My favorite class is AP Physics.

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I spend my time tutoring others, going to youth group, practicing at club dive under Olympian silver medalist Kelly Robertson’s wing.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My family has always been my biggest supporters and have always been willing to work extra, wake up earlier and cheer even louder whenever I need it.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: Pre-game ritual is to say a quick prayer and listen to the song “Leavin’” by Jesse McCartney.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Speechless” by Dan and Shay

“Cassie is our ASB President and just finished up her senior dive season — four-year letter winner, 1st Team all-league and 11th place finish in state. She is currently on our state placing gymnastics team. Coach Sheila Clark said, “Cassie is a pleasure to coach and is an amazing student athlete that works hard in the classroom, athletic arena and within our community. She is a great role model that successfully juggles high level classes, ASB presidency, Falcon Crew, Covington Cares, church, family and friends. I appreciate ALL she does for our Falcon Family.”
