Tahoma heads to district semifinals

The Bears advance.

In a district tournament match up against the Kentridge Chargers, Tahoma’s baseball team punched its ticket to the next round winning Tuesday’s game 5-4.

The Bears took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning.

Kentridge got on the board in the top of the third but still trailed 3-1 to the Bears.

Adding a run in the bottom of the third, Tahoma added to its lead.

During the fourth inning, the Chargers rallied scoring three — tying the Bears at 4-4.

The remainder of the game went scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning. The Bears scored the game winner in the final inning, advancing to the next round of the West Central District 3 Southwest District 4 tournament.

The Bears will host the winner of the Skyview vs. Todd Beamer game at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Art Wright Field in Kent.

If Tahoma wins that match up, the Bears will face either Federal Way or Puyallup in the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday.
