INGE CHEVRIER

Inge Chevrier was born October 29, 1938 in Hoppstädten-Weiersbach, Germany to Peter and Klara Ruppenthal. She died peacefully on December 29, 2018 with family by her side, in Valley Medical Center, Renton, WA, due to complications from dementia.

Inge met her future husband, Jim, on April 1, 1956, and after a brief 6-month courtship the two were married on November 10th in her hometown of Birkenfeld, Germany. Inge was an extraordinary military wife and raised three wonderful children, often by herself, while Jim was absent serving his country in the US Air Force.

She had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and never met an animal that she didn’t love. She was also a very determined woman and always accomplished the goals she set for herself including getting her US Citizenship in 1958 and also completing medical secretary courses at the former Renton Voc Tech. One of her proudest achievements was learning to swim at the age of 40, which she continued regularly over the years until her illness prevented it. Inge loved people and made many wonderful friends along the way.

Inge will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Jim, and their children Patty (Ron) John, Mark Chevrier, and Jimmie Chevrier Jr. (Adam Colvin). Also four grandchildren, Ian Albright, Christopher (Lynn) John, Katarina Chevrier, Dakota Chevrier, and three great granddaughters, Evelyn and Adalind John, and Kalianna Barrows.

Her remains are interred at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, WA.

A Celebration of Life will take place from noon-4:00 pm on February 10, 2019 at the Maplewood Golf Course, Renton, WA. Food and beverages will be provided. Please contact Jim at chev1934@yahoo.com or any other family member by January 25th to RSVP.

In lieu of flowers kindly make remembrance gifts to your local Humane Society.
