Tahoma wins meet by one

The Tahoma Bears gymnastics team (2-1, 2-1) traveled to Federal Way to compete against Decatur, Enumclaw, White River and Hazen Jan. 23.

The Bears won the meet by one with a team score of 159.

Decatur scored 158, White River scored 147, Hazen came in fourth with 146 and Enumclaw placed fifth with a team score of 74.

Tahoma’s Emma Rochleau finished first on vault with a score of 9.45.

The Bears Laena Tieng tied for sixth with a score of 8.20.

On the uneven bars, Tahoma’s Hadley Johnson tied for third with a score of 7.20.

Rochleau came in eighth on the uneven bars with 6.70.

Both Johnson and Rochleau placed in the balance beam.

Johnson finished in second place with 8.65 and Rochleau tied for fifth with 8.05.

Rochleau tied for fifth during the floor exercise with a final score of 9.6.

Lizzie Lorenz tied for seventh on floor with 9.30.

Three Bears finished in the top three in the all-around.

Coming in at second place was Rochleau with an all-around score of 33.80.

Elsie Rochleau finished in seventh place with 30.95.

Tying for eighth place was Tieng with an all-around score of 30.30.

The Bears final regular season meet of the year was Jan. 30 when the girls competed against Hazen, Kennedy Catholic and Mount Rainier. The meet was held after the Reporter’s press deadline.
